Inkwell is a screenwriting app with an AI co-writer that assists in brainstorming, editing, and refining scripts without taking control. It is free, works offline, and is compatible with Final Draft and Fountain. Created by James, a software engineer and indie filmmaker, Inkwell allows users to approve or reject AI suggestions, ensuring the writer remains the sole author, in line with WGA's AI guidelines. The AI, Quill, is powered by a user-selected LLM and presents suggestions as diffs, inspired by tools like Windsurf and Cursor.
